Lead Sponsorship – Esports Event

We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Lead Sponsorship professional to drive the sponsorship strategy and partnerships for an exciting esports event. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry and have a proven track record in securing and managing sponsorships with multinational corporations (MNCs). This role requires an individual who is passionate about esports, understands the needs of top-tier brands, and can deliver exceptional value to both sponsors and event participants

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sponsorship Strategy & Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy for the esports event, targeting top-tier MNC sponsors and key industry brands.
  • Identify potential sponsors and partners, leveraging deep knowledge of the gaming and esports sector to align brand objectives with event opportunities.
  • Build customized sponsorship packages that meet the specific needs and goals of each sponsor, ensuring value alignment with the event’s target audience.

2. Client Relationship Management:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with existing sponsors and potential multinational corporate sponsors in the gaming, tech, and entertainment sectors.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for MNC sponsors throughout the event lifecycle, ensuring their goals and expectations are met.
  • Provide high levels of customer service, maintaining strong, long-term relationships with sponsors post-event to ensure future partnerships.

3. Negotiation & Contract Management:

  • Lead negotiations with potential sponsors, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements are reached regarding pricing, deliverables, and activation.
  • Oversee the creation of sponsorship contracts, ensuring all terms are aligned with sponsor requirements and event objectives.
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of sponsor benefits, including branding, product placements, and other activation opportunities.

4. Event Integration & Activation:

  • Work closely with the event planning and marketing teams to seamlessly integrate sponsors into the event, ensuring high visibility and engagement.
  • Develop innovative activation opportunities that resonate with both the esports audience and the sponsors' brand goals.
  • Monitor and report on sponsor engagement and the effectiveness of sponsorships during and after the event.

5. Market Research & Trend Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the esports, gaming, and digital entertainment sectors, identifying emerging sponsorship opportunities.
  • Research and identify leading MNCs, potential brand categories, and key decision-makers within the gaming and tech industries to target for sponsorship.
  • Analyze past sponsorship data to optimize future event partnerships and improve value propositions.

6. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Work cross-functionally with event operations, marketing, and sales teams to ensure sponsors’ branding, activations, and content are strategically and creatively integrated into the event.
  • Collaborate with the digital and content teams to ensure sponsors’ presence is maximized across multiple platforms, including social media, livestreams, and on-site branding.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on sponsorship progress, including revenue forecasts and key sponsor feedback.

7. Budget Management:

  • Manage sponsorship revenue targets and ensure sponsorship sales efforts align with the event’s overall budget and financial goals.
  • Track and report on sponsor investment and ROI, making adjustments as needed to maximize revenue.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in sponsorship sales and partnership development, with a strong focus on the gaming, esports, or tech sectors.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing large-scale sponsorships, especially with MNCs in industries such as technology, entertainment, or consumer goods.
  • Deep knowledge and passion for esports and the gaming industry, including key trends, stakeholders, and major players.
  • Strong understanding of the sponsorship and event activation landscape in esports and gaming events.
